Very nice.

Killer remix of a killer song. 'Nuff said.

I gave it a 9 because the intro wasn't too good. Everything else is a-okay!

Mrmilkcarton responds:

Thanks, I should of probably spent more time on it then I did.

All right.

This song is actually just Super Mario Bros. Not Super Mario Bros. 3.

Pretty basic. You missed one note (should be at the end of 0:10), I'm sure of, you got another one wrong (at 0:15), I'm sure of, and the end of the song has a few too many notes, starting at 0:25 and ending at 0:26.

Jebbal responds:

OH MY GOD I NEED TO FIX IT PRONTO

lol go listen to my new stuff, why is everyone reviewing this garbage?? xD

Thanks though!

Great track here!

Not much I have to say (I'm tired). You implemented the vocals almost perfectly, in my opinion. Not a big fan of Kate Leising, but the point here is that it seems you know how to lay down vocals in a trance track.

Synth was top notch, percussion played pretty well, and it all flowed very nicely. Overall, this is a great track; not my favorite type of trance, but I can tell that there was a lot of effort put forth. Keep it up. =)

Thanks for the review man!

too bad it didn't make top tracks ever...i don't know. seems like NG is a bunch of douches for not putting this on there. look at that bottom song. terrible static crap. and he only had 5 dls, 13 votes. I had 52 votes, >20 dls, and 27 reviews with an average score of 9.6...ALL WITHIN 21 HOURS. Yeah. I"m not too happy, but I agree. I wish I could have gotten better quality voices, but it was there and easily accessable. I'm planning on making my own lyrics with a singer that I actually have them record. That's the kinda stuff that's not gonna be on NG. It'll just ignored like this song.

Really good!

I absolutely love this track from Donkey Kong Country 2. It's definitely one of my favorites, and you did a good job remixing it. I do have a few pointers to make, however.

From the way it sounds, you tried to somewhat replicate the synths that were used in the original version, but the problem is that most of your synths were not well-defined, in my opinion. What I am meaning to say is that they aren't clearly heard, and their ends can get just a bit washed up in the background.

The entire set of percussions came in all too abruptly. The bassline changed quickly as well, and it seemed to mess up the flow of the track. I loved the bassline before and the bassline after, but this transition was extremely short when it could have been slightly longer, smoother, and better! I also think the percussion could have been stepped up just a little bit.

Other than these points I've made, I think you have an amazing remix. I'm definitely going to have to send out a remix of this track at some point in time.

CrimzonWolf777 responds:

hey thx for the review! glad you enjoyed it. cant wait to hear your version...it'll prolly kill mine lol ^_^v

Great times...

Haha, loved DuckTales for the NES! Although my memory of the stage is somewhat vague, I can recognize the music. I think you did a very good job of remixing it. Very enjoyable track!

It makes me want to go play it right now. =P

SupraDarky responds:

Wooo thanks Imn! Let me refresh your memory: the stage was on the moon, outside or inside a spaceship.... That's about it! :)

Ow?

You DEFINITELY need to work on those volume levels. The track was blaring, and I don't even have my volume up that high. Honestly, it hurt my ears because you decided not to master the track well enough.

Aside from that, the overall song was all right, from what I could tell. The end could have been a lot better; the arped piano was poor and not as well-executed as it could have been (plain arp notes).

Seriously, work on the volume levels, please, and use compressors. I might listen to what else you have then.

DreamEater responds:

send me tutorials and i'll think about it
you are one person with your one opinion
so im really not that concerned
so thanks...
i guess
thanks for reviewing

Too slow!

The tempo you have here is very rare to find in trance, and the reason why is because it doesn't work too well. It doesn't work here, either. I think if it was sped up some more, it would be a wonderful track, I really do! There's an odd clicking noise, too, every other beat.

Good job on this track. Just a bit iffy about the tempo.

Karco responds:

I decided to try something slower with Rush, and kept the tempo when I reversed it and made this. Personally I think the tempo is fine (as I was aiming for a heavy, uplifting feel), and apparently so do the rest of the reviewers... I'll experiment with tempo, though, later today. :P

The clicking noise is part of the kick. ;)

Thanks for the review, glad you liked it. :)

Overall good, kick bad.

The kick was too heavy, and slightly filtered to my disliking. That's my only real complaint.

I'm surprised very few got on you about repetitiveness. I don't think it's a bad thing at all. It's gonna happen one way or another, whether somebody likes it or not, that's just part of trance. =P

If you could, check out some of my newer submissions, and let me know what you think! Much appreciated.

Karco responds:

I can see where you're coming from about the kick, I guess I could have polished that a bit more. :P

Repetitiveness has always been tough in that I can never please everyone, either because I didn't do a good enough job, or because the listener's not used to the time it takes to progress in a trance song. At least you don't mind. :P

I'll give your stuff a look, thanks for the review, glad you liked it! :D

Chemically.

Glitched drums and percussion -- I love it! The hoover was utilized very well, in my opinion. The piece that plays in the middle that sounds like a xylophone/bell thingy was odd, but it fits the overall feel of the track. The strings that play near the end of the track fit great with the phased synth (maybe a hat).

I might be wrong about a lot of things I've said, but I do know that this track is pretty cool. Nice job!

Suspended-3rd-Chord responds:

well-just from listening to some of your tracks i'd say you know more then me and you're correct moreso! but those strings are actually a synth flute :P

thanks for the review dude!

It's good.

This is really good, I loved the synths. The progression was not too bad.

The only thing I didn't like was the percussion; I think it could be a lot better. Work on that. =P Great job overall.

whirlpool responds:

thanks.

I'm a creative person - music, art, writing, I mess with it all. I currently use FL Studio 7 (thanks DJ-Nightmare!) to produce electronica and video game music.
