When I think of hardcore, I don't think of something like this. I don't think this belongs under hardcore, nor does it belong in trance. The best place to put it would probably be techno, or even dance, since in Europe it's widely considered such, I do believe. Newgrounds needs some new genres in the list...

Pretty heavy kick, which I like in something like this. It sounds like Techtonik - good stuff. =P Keep it up!

weemeee responds:

hehe yea ^^ They indeed need some new genres xD
Ty for the review :D!

Something's wrong...

I was disgusted with the progression of the song; nothing seemed to fit in place, especially the vocals.

The vocals were not in sync with the main progression of the song. I think the BPM may actually be the culprit, I'm not certain, though; it sounded bad. >.> Percussion was a bit poor and came in at what seemed the wrong time. The sudden attacks coming from the main synth near the middle of the song were not so good.

There are so many other things that caught my attention, but I won't post them here. Could have been better.

mybrobilo responds:

yea thanks for spending the time to write your review. i threw this song together in one night. i'll will check it out fo sho. lol

Melody good, overall bad.

Actually, your bassline does sound a lot like dj-Nate, B0UNC3, and a few others that aren't as well-known (at least to me). It's nothing new at all.

Honestly, I like the original more than this remix -- sorry to be so blunt about it. I think more effort could have gone into this; better percussion suitable for a mellow feeling, definitely. Work on it!

The original artist is DJ Toxic, by the way.

mybrobilo responds:

i guess my opinion on what my bassline sounds like doesnt matter but a lot of people used the same bassline. i know i need work on my percussion it is my "forte" im glad u gave me this constructive criticism. i do notice that u use a lot of percussion in your songs.

Can be a lot better.

To me, everything seemed really good... except for the synths. Horrible. Completely. You should definitely work on making them better than they are. And with so many different noises and note progressions going on at once (farther in), it feels too jumbled. It might help if volume levels were tweaked a bit as well.

If I were you, I would add some more effects to your instruments; they seem very plain and dull. Lastly, add some percussion, or you don't really have a trance track (I may have heard a closed hi hat). Maybe a heavier kick...

Work on it, and maybe you'll have a better piece here.

Dj-Rippa responds:

alright.. great info.. but really only a 5.. bit harsh if u ask me?
w.e thanks anyway:D!!!

Odd.

The melody which the song begins with is oddly familiar. I know I've heard it from somewhere, but I can't put a finger on where it really came from; it makes me wonder if you may have taken melodies from other songs as well. I can't say for sure, however.

The progression of the song is very strange. A melody will be playing, and then suddenly it reverts back to how the song began. It's almost as if a piece of a song was chopped and played over again... very suspicious. I know that the song is supposed to mess with one's mentality, but still. I think this could have turned out way better than it has.

Laikros responds:

People say its from casper and random ghost hunting sites.

Not bad at all.

Very nice. Progressive, and with sine waves; I'm impressed! I enjoyed a lot of it. Some parts were somewhat distorted from the volume levels, but aside from that, this sounds like it could be a winner.

ericdrebin responds:

I'm glad you liked it. This is probably the best thing that I've ever made with ModPlug Tracker.
The levels were hard to get perfect, and trying to make percussive sounds with the sine wave was pretty hard, but, overall, I'm pleased with the final product.
Thanks for the kind review.

The Epitome of Porno Music

Wow, I really must have inspired you to make a porno track, because this is like... the epitome of porno music! This is great stuff; I honestly don't have any ideas or tips for you, although turb said that maybe adding a piano would be good. I can somewhat myself hear an electric piano being played... yeah, that'd be a nice addition, but it's already great.

Make some more music, it's been a while.

corvet responds:

You truly did inspire me. As for new music, possibly over spring break when I'm not overloaded with classes. Check back then. Thanks.

Wonderful

To Spankatopia, it's way way better than a lot of the crap that's plagued the trance section, trust me. If you've heard any of Armin van Buuren's stuff, you'd know that this song is on par with his, and he's easily the best trance artist in the world, up there with Ferry Corsten, Menno De Jong, Above & Beyond, and several others.

My point is, Pulstate is the most professional among other trance artists here at NG, you just have to listen to the real stuff in order to determine that. You can TELL that there is effort put into this, hours and hours of it. B0UNC3, dj-Nate, and all that same bassline crap is nothing.

It's good that Pulstate left. He's making money, and a lot of it compared to others. Arrogant is the wrong word to use -- try confident.

Pulstate responds:

^ Thank you, at least someone is not blind.

Nice work!

You might remember the comment which I posted on your song Electronic Symphony. Your response was:

"DJ DooDah: No offence man, but I really didn't understand half of what you said... If you could speak in a less scientifical language maybe...
We really did our best on this stuff, and don't get disappointed, there's a lot more to come..."

I don't know why you think I was speaking in a scientifical language, but anyway, it's time for me to review the remastered version.

Again, the percussion was poor. I only hear two hi-hats, and they are both closed (that means there are no extension of the hi-hats whatsoever). The second hi-hat that comes in somewhat drowns the first one. Also, the clap was REALLY outstanding from the other sounds (that's a bad thing). I did notice, however, that you fixed the 2/4 beats for the synth starting at 2:15 and made it 4/4. I liked that.

Here is some advice, guys: work on the volume that is set for each sound. More so, tweak the the overall volume levels. These things applied to your songs should make them a lot better. Keep up the work, and if you're looking for any help, just let me know. I'll do what I can. =)

PsyWoofers responds:

COOL! Thanks for the review ; )

Awesome track you've got!

I love hardstyle! I listen to a lot of Techtonik (no, I don't rave, I just like the music lol).

You've got a nice piece here. I'd give more criticism than that, but hardstyle is still a little new to me, and I don't exactly know the specific consistencies. I've always wanted to make hardstyle, but I'm not so good at that (I've got one project in the works... maybe I'll use Devils From Heaven for inspiration =P). Again, nice track; your basic rave song.

weemeee responds:

Ty for ur review man :D XD btw i also make hardcore ;D ill pm u if my next song is done XD
